Spanish Desserts are getting an overhaul for the holidays at Mercat.
When you think of Spanish desserts most people immediately go to Churros as an easy go-to. We’ve been tricked into thinking that Spanish desserts have to be a vehicle for sugar after a rich & filling meal. Not the case, here at Mercat. We’ve loaded our desserts menu with the finest Sherries around to compliment a savory dish like our Olive Oil Cake. A rich, dense cake flavored with Spanish olive oil & Valencia orange marmalade. On top of that a quenelle of cava sorbet is drizzled with rosemary caramel. Is Crème Catalana your favorite? Because we make one of the best around! This egg based custard, flavored with delicious marcona almonds is a favorite all year round. You’ll find that gorgeous crème nestled under the caramelized sugar crunch you’ve come to love. During the holidays we can to ramp it up a little & our Chefs have some amazing additions waiting for you. Our Christmas Snow Ball is one you don’t want to miss! With chocolate coffee cake & turron ice cream all contained in a playful snowball made of white chocolate & coconut flakes, you’re going to feel like a kid again. Maybe you prefer something smaller & just a quick bite. Our Turron Bonbon is the perfect little bite! A miniature scoop of horchata ice cream layered with puffed rice crisps & dipped in milk chocolate. We can’t think of anything more heavenly. If chocolate is your happy place you will love our Torta De Xocolat will blow your mind. Chocolate pave, milk chocolate cream, white chocolate cinnamon ice cream, dulce de leche… layer upon layer of wonderful goodness. Last but not least is our Rosas con Lychee Cheesecake. This is sure to become a favorite! Velvety lychee cheesecake perched atop a plate, surrounded by raspberries & just a hint of rose essence. This is going to pair perfectly with one of our crisp cavas at the end of your meal.
