General Manager

Eric Liebtag

A Culinary and Hospitality Management graduate of Le Courdon Bleu in London, England, Eric Liebtag joins The Corner Office as General Manager, bringing with him more than ten years of culinary experience. Responsible for overseeing service and day-to-day operations at The Corner Office, Liebtag joins forces with Executive Chef Rich Byers, to offer a unique food and beverage program, focused on supporting local agriculture and purveyors.

Liebtag has always had a great love for food, from his teenage years, practicing as a butcher’s apprentice in a small neighborhood butcher shop to serving as a restaurant manager at McKinley Pub in Philadelphia.  In the early 2000’s, Liebtag left Philadelphia for Europe where he had the opportunity to work hotels in Switzerland and cafes in France, as well as receive his culinary education at  Le Courdon Bleu in London. Following graduation, Eric refined his culinary skills under Andrea Garrett at One Michelin Star Restaurant, The Orrery in London, where he served as Pastry Chef.

In 2005, Liebtag found himself back in the states, where he joined Philadelphia’s four bell restaurant, Lacroix as Sous Chef. Liebtag received an opportunity in 2008 to join opening team at The Blackstone Hotel and Mercat al la Planxa in Chicago, where he joined the family of Sage Hospitality and took the role as Executive Chef with Chef Jose Garces, followed by Assistant General manager at Mercat al la Planxa, directing all food and beverage departments including menu, recipe, and system development. During his tenure, Mercat was awarded Best New Restaurant in 2008 by Esquire magazine.  Recognizing his passion for restaurant management, menu creations, and the ability to lead a team to successfully run a food and beverage program, Liebtag left The Blackstone Hotel and Mercat in 2013, but still stayed in the Sage family to join the team at The Corner Office.
